Nicholas Teti is currently an independent consultant serving public and private health care companies. Mr. Teti was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Den-Mat, a dental aesthetics company focused on developing non-invasive techniques, a position he held from January 2008 until March 2009. He is currently on the Board of Enteromedics, a company developing novel surgical devices for the treatment of morbid obesity. Since June 2006, he has also served as Chairman of the Board of Isolagen, Inc., a biotechnology company which develops emergent, novel skin and tissue rejuvenation technologies. From June 2006 to January 2008, Mr. Teti was Chief Executive Officer of Isolagen. From 2001 to 2006, Mr. Teti was President and Chief Executive Officer of Inamed Corporation, a healthcare products manufacturer focused on marketing breast implants, dermal fillers to correct facial wrinkles, and devices to treat severe and morbid obesity, including the LAP-BAND Adjustable Gastric Banding System. Mr. Teti served on the board of Inamed during 2001 and was Chairman of the Board from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Teti spent twenty-five years at DuPont and DuPont Merck where he held a number of senior management positions including President and CEO of DuPont Pharmaceuticals.
Mr. Teti holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.
Douglas Abel is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Manhattan Pharmaceuticals, a position he has held since 2005. He previously served in the same roles at Tarpan Therapeutics, a closely-held company acquired by Manhattan Pharmaceuticals. Before joining Tarpan, Mr. Abel served as Vice President of the Dermatology Business Unit at Biogen Idec from 2000 to 2004. While at Biogen, he led the creation of the U.S. dermatology commercial operation, building the team from two to more than 100 employees to support the launch of AMEVIVE®. Prior to joining Biogen, Mr. Abel was with Allergan Pharmaceuticals from December 1987 to August 2000. While at Allergan he held a number of positions with his final role being Director of BOTOX® Marketing.
Mr. Abel holds a B.A. in chemistry from Lafayette College and an M.B.A from Temple University.
Niv Caviar is Suneva Medical’s President, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to Suneva Medical, Mr. Caviar was Executive Vice President, Chief Business Officer and Chief Financial Officer of La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co (NASDAQ: LJPC). In this role, he was responsible for all commercial, business development, finance, IR and other G&A functions. Prior to La Jolla, Mr. Caviar served as Vice President and Head of Marketing for the medical dermatology business of Allergan, Inc. (NYSE: AGN). Brands under his responsibility included Tazorac® and Botox® for medical dermatology uses. He also served as the Vice President of Business Development where he was responsible for leading deals and transactions across all therapeutic areas. Mr. Caviar was the deal leader for Allergan’s Global Neurology alliance with GSK in which GSK gained rights to Botox in Asia and Allergan co-promoted Imitrex® and Amerge® in the U.S.
Prior to Allergan, Mr. Caviar was Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Immusol/ItherX and served as Director of Corporate Development at Affymetrix, Inc. (NASDAQ: AFFX). He was also a management consultant for the Pharmaceutical and Health Care Strategy practice of Accenture.
He is a former U.S. Air Force officer where he worked as a Solid Rocket Motor Engineer and Project Manager on both the Titan IV Rocket and the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Programs. Mr. Caviar currently serves on the board of Kalologie, a privately held aesthetics and dermatology company.
Mr. Caviar received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Todd Davis is a founder, Managing Director at Cowen Healthcare Royalty Partners. Previously, Mr. Davis was a partner at Paul Capital Partners, where he focused on leading royalty-related investments for the Paul Royalty Funds. Prior to that, Mr. Davis was a partner at Apax Partners, responsible for leading private equity investments in biopharmaceutical companies. Mr. Davis has extensive healthcare operating experience, having worked in business development and general management at Élan Pharmaceuticals and in sales and marketing at Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Davis has led or facilitated healthcare investments totaling over $600 million, of which approximately $400 million were structured royalty investments. Mr. Davis currently serves on the board of Ligand Pharmaceuticals and historically has served on the boards of several private and public companies.
Mr. Davis is a former U.S. naval officer and holds a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Clarke Futch is a founder, Managing Director at Cowen Healthcare Royalty Partners. Mr. Futch has been a principal investor for eight years, having closed $700 million in royalty-related investments. Previously, Mr. Futch was a partner at Paul Capital Partners where he was responsible for sourcing, executing and managing investments for the Paul Royalty Funds; in addition, he was primarily responsible for two asset-backed note offerings. During his tenure at Paul Capital from 2001-2006, he served at various times on the investor relations, finance and secondary operating committees. Prior to that, Mr. Futch was a founding member of the healthcare group at Thomas Weisel Partners and a healthcare investment banker at Raymond James. Mr. Futch has substantial principal investing, capital markets, finance and international tax expertise, having closed over 125 transactions in his career. He has served on the boards of Prism Pharmaceuticals and Medical Carbon Research Institute.
Mr. Futch holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Paul Hadden is a Vice President at Cowen Healthcare Royalty Partners. Prior to joining Cowen Healthcare, Mr. Hadden was a principal of The Frankel Group, a boutique healthcare management consulting firm based in New York. While at The Frankel Group from 2001-2007, Mr. Hadden advised biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on business strategy, completing over 75 projects focused on commercial/market assessments, sales forecasting, marketing strategies and due diligence. Mr. Hadden was responsible for managing multiple teams of consultants and performing primary and secondary research. Prior to The Frankel Group, Mr. Hadden worked at New York-Presbyterian Hospital as a senior financial analyst providing financial planning support to the program development and clinical services division.
Mr. Hadden holds a B.A. from Yale College and an M.P.H. from the Yale School of Public Health.
